TURNER – Emily Grund scored the game-winning run on a passed ball in the top of the seventh inning to push Edward Little to a 4-3 victory over Leavitt in KVAC softball action Monday.

Grund singled to get on base, stole second, and made it to third on a wild pitch, before coming home to score the winning run for the Red Eddies (8-3). Alyssa Levesque and Jena Dubois each had a pair of base hits.

The Hornets (4-7) put runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh inning, but could not get them home. Kassara Varney, Brittani Nelson, and Tori Zupancic each had two hits apiece in the effort.

Telstar 7, Madison 0

MADISON – Kayla Merrill fanned 13 batters and gave up just two hits en route to a Telstar shutout over Madison 7-0 Monday in an MVC matchup.

Candace Hall ripped a three-run homer in the fourth inning for the Rebels (7-2).

Nicera Wallace contributed with a double. Hall, Wallace, and Lindsey James each had two singles apiece in the win.

Cony 6, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON – Mika Wilson and Jasmine Trott split pitching duties and combined for nine strikeouts as Cony blanked Lewiston 6-0.

Megan Cloutier hit an RBI double to score Sarah Deeves in the third inning for the undefeated Rams (11-0). Kayla Belanger also hit a double.

The Blue Devils (0-11) stranded seven base runners in the course of the contest. Lyndsey Smith had two of the three Lewiston hits.

St. Dom’s 4, Traip 2

AUBURN – Kelsey Murphy hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to lift St. Dom’s to a 4-2 victory over Traip.

Murphy’s home run gave the Saints a 4-1 advantage. Traip came back to score once in the seventh before falling short.

Lindsey Nance struck out seven batters and allowed six hits to pick up the win for the Saints (9-1). Mary Caron contributed three singles.

Fryeburg 5, Gray-NG 0

FRYEBURG – Hannah Hill tossed a one-hitter and struck out 12 batters en route to a 5-0 Fryeburg win over Gray-New Gloucester.

All five of Fryeburg’s (9-0) runs were scored in the third inning, starting with Desi Ramsay being walked in. The Patriots overthrew to first base to score three more runs, before Tanya Randall doubled in Ariel McConkey to round out the offensive attack.

Patriots pitcher Laura Getchell allowed five hits.

Hall-Dale 3, Jay 2

JAY – Danielle Breault drove in the eventual game-winning run in the 11th inning for Hall-Dale as the Bulldogs took a bite out of Jay with a 3-2 victory in MVC softball action Monday.

Bulldogs pitcher Linsay Lachance and Tigers’ pitcher Alexii Smith were locked in a duel through 11 innings. Lachance earned the win with eight strikeouts, while Smith fanned 10 batters.

Lachance was also prolific at the plate, delivering four hits, including a triple for Hall-Dale (7-3).

Alexi Blodgett had the only extra-base hit for the Tigers (9-2) with a double.

Mountain Valley 7, Wiscasset 3

WISCASSET – Mountain Valley sealed the game with three runs in the seventh inning to walk away with a 7-3 triumph over Wiscasset.

Lindsey Gallant tossed a four-hitter and struck out six to pick up the victory for the Falcons (4-5). Shelby Moore led the offense with a single and a double.

Sidney Morin pitched for Wiscasset (3-5).

Oxford Hills 3, Morse 0

BATH – Megan Gauger, Brooke Ladd, and Brianna Martin each had an RBI single in the first inning to secure Oxford Hills’ 3-0 win over Morse.

Martin was the only repeat hitter for the Vikings (9-2) with two singles. Kristy Jurzcak fanned 10 batters to earn the win.

Delaney Fone had two hits to lead Morse (1-10).

Livermore Falls 8, Lisbon 3

LIVERMORE FALLS – Jayde Purrington belted a pair of doubles and drove in two runs to lead Livermore Falls to an 8-3 victory over Lisbon in MVC softball action Monday.

Chelsie Morris and Kaitlyn Townsend each hit a double and drove in two runs, while Kat Lake also went two bases for the Andies (3-8). Townsend earned the win.

The Greyhounds (2-8) scored one run in the first and two more in the fourth, and were led offensively by Haley Eck, who had a double.

Lacrosse

Mt. Ararat 17, Edward Little 2

TOPSHAM – Whitney Dano notched six goals while Meghan Dan tallied five as Mt. Ararat rolled past Edward Little 17-2 in lacrosse action held Monday.

The Eagles held the offensive advantage outshooting Edward Little 30-9 in the contest. Heather Bolduc netted three goals for Mt. Ararat.

Karen Leary and Katie Williamson each scored for the Eddies (2-4) effort.

Morse 9, Lewiston 7

BATH – Morse scored three times in overtime to pull away for a 9-7 victory over Lewiston.

The Blue Devils (4-4) led 5-4 at the half, but only scored one goal in the second half and once in overtime. Sabi Naji and Shelby Turcotte scored twice for Lewiston, while Olivia Fournier, Kristin McCombs and Sara Martin also scored. Tiffany Russell led Morse with three goals

Steff Belanger made 18 saves in goal for Lewiston.
