DIXFIELD – Maine Countryfolk Music Theatre will open Sunday, May 24, for its 10th consecutive season, offering free traditional country, gospel, folk and bluegrass jam sessions.
“We offer Friday night smaller jams and campfires and on Sundays a large gathering of 20-40 musicians volunteer their time to entertain and showcase their talents. New musicians are always welcome to join in,” said organizer Larry Bisbee. “We have two house bands to back up anyone who would like it, Nickels & Dimes and “The Vintage Pickers; or solo pickers and singers may perform on their own.”
Throughout the summer, Friday night jams will run from 5 to 9 p.m.; Sunday jams will be from noon to 6 p.m. Potluck food offered on Sunday.
Countryfolk’s bandstands and spectator building are on Bisbee’s property off U.S. Route 2.
