Dear Sun Spots: I use a bar of soap for my restless leg syndrome, but it does work for leg cramps also. You can use any bar of soap except Ivory. Unwrap the soap and put it at the end of your bed so your toes touch the soap. If it slides around, put it in a sock and pin it to the sheet. I have no idea why it works, but it does. And it is better than meds. – Jan, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: The Hillview Resource Center, which is part of Lewiston Housing Authority, is in need of children’s encyclopedias for our very busy after-school homework program. This program helps from between 20 to 40 kids every day with their schoolwork.

We have tutors from the Lewiston School Department and Bates College who come to the center four days a week, and the books would be very beneficial to the program. If you have any kids’ encyclopedias not being used and in good condition, complete or nearly complete, please call the Resource Center at 783-8539. Thanks! – Debbie, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: A while ago there was a gentleman who wrote in for dishes for his church. I think it was for one of the Catholic churches. I have a service for eight he could have if he gives me a call at 783-6284. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: The Parent Teacher Organization at Fairview Elementary in Auburn has put together a wonderful cookbook. It is filled with 491 recipes for only $10. The profits will be used to improve our playground, which is in need of help.

Please support our school by purchasing one! To buy a cookbook, call our school at 784-3559 or stop by the school’s office at 397 Minot Ave. in Auburn. The more cookbooks we sell, the more improvements we can make to our playground! Thanks. – Fairview Elementary PTO.
