Not far over the Turner town line on Route 4 Youly’s Family Restaurant sits as it has since 1982. On the left side of the road heading north, an ample parking lot greets patrons for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A favorite with hunters, fishermen and families, this restaurant has a variety of items, not to mention both seniors’ and children’s menus.
The moment you walk through the door to the dining area you are welcomed by the smell of seafood entrees, certified Angus beef burger choices, chowders, appetizers, sides and homemade desserts that are tempting to diners old and young.
A family atmosphere, the dining area has plenty of tables as well as seating at the counter. A dessert menu hangs over the counter boasting flavors of homemade pies and pudding, making it difficult for anyone to avoid having dessert. It’s simple, home-cooked dining at its best.
I ordered the mini shore special with a crab-meat roll, fries, coleslaw and a cup of fish chowder for $9.99. As the chowder had onions, to which I am allergic, I could only sample it. I was quite upset that I couldn’t finish it, because it lived up to Youly’s claim of award-winning chowder. Absolutely delicious.
The crab-meat roll had a slight hint of sweetness and the only crunch was from the celery mixed in, all quite enjoyable. One of my food weaknesses is fries. I like them crisp, slightly greasy and hand-cut, and these were all that. Coleslaw is not a food I eat often, but for the sake of the review I tried it. It was really good, sweet with just a bit of zing.
My waitress was pleasant, checking in a couple of times during the meal with a smile every time. I asked for a take-out menu and then paid for my lunch. This is a place I can comfortably take my sons where we can all relax  and know that a majority of the menu they will eat without question.
Just 15 minutes from the mall district of Auburn, Youly’s is truly a tasty option for dining in the L-A area.
