RUMFORD – The Rumford United Methodist Church will have a Spring Fling indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the chapel on Linnell Street.

In addition to appliances, curtains, table linens and dishes, there will be plants and baked goods. Coffee and muffins will also be available. The sale will be held in Fellowship Hall and parking is available across from and behind the chapel.

Circle to meet

RUMFORD – St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Holy Saviors Church Hall. Committee members are Chairwoman Pierrette Gahnon, Dot Cayer, Jean Arsenault and Noella Taylor.

Waste disposal

MEXICO – River Valley residents seeking an environmentally friendly way to dispose of their hazardous waste can take advantage of the area’s free household waste collection event scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 13, at the Region 9 parking lot on 377 River Road.

Wastes being brought to the collection event should be in the original, securely closed containers if possible. If any container is leaking, pack the whole thing into a bucket. Never mix chemicals, and do not smoke or eat while handling or transporting hazardous materials.
