AUBURN – Greg LaBonte hurled five innings of two-hit baseball and drew ample run support as St. Dom’s rolled to a 11-1 victory over Traip in the Western Class C quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Saints (16-1) erupted for five runs in the second and fourth innings, sparked by the batting of CJ Bergeron, Richard Paradis and Kurt Johnson. Paradis finished with two hits and three RBIs. Jack Cuttle drove in the lone run for Traip, while he and Donald Lamoreux each belted doubles.

St. Dom’s 14, Morse 13

LEWISTON – Trevar Haefele netted an unassisted goal one minute into overtime to lift St. Dom’s to a 14-13 victory over Morse in Eastern Class B boys’ lacrosse quarterfinals Thursday afternoon at Bates College.

Haefele finished with six goals and five assists to lead the Saints (9-4), while Troy Haefele, Matt Adams and Ben Adams all tallied twice. Ryan Lussier and DJ Curtis also tallied to complete the scoring. Cody Rodrigue made 19 saves for St. Dom’s to notch the win.

Nick Small led the Shipbuilders (9-4) with five goals, while Pat Wolfe registered a hat trick. Luke Moreau added two goals, while single tallies from Seth Hobson, Seth Smith and Jay Underwood rounded out the scoring. Ben Malcom turned aside 15 shots between the posts for Morse.
