Doug Dwinal of Lewiston serves up a batch of pancakes during the 52nd annual Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast in Auburn on Sunday. “We will flip about 9,000 pancakes before the day is done,” said “pancake site manager” Bud Nelson. “It’s amazing, even on a rainy day, we are having an outstanding turnout,” said Dan Goff, chairman of the breakfast. “We might get 4,000 (people) this year,” Goff said. Money raised, about $7,500, will benefit the club’s scholarship fund and assist the Kiwanis’ priority of helping children. “Once a year they let me run a restaurant and it’s going wonderful,” said Nelson.
