Smith-Tobey 17, Swasey-Torrey 5
DIXFIELD — Smith-Tobey scored 13 unanswered runs from the second through fifth innings Monday and cruised to a 17-5 Zone 3 American Legion baseball victory over Swasey-Torrey Post of Dixfield.
Matt and Tim Bickford combined for seven hits, including three doubles, and six runs scored for Smith-Tobey (7-2) of Bath.
David Guildford’s three-run double staked Dixfield (2-6) to a 4-0 lead in the first innings. Tyler Gates and Aaron Fenstermacher each cracked two hits for Dixfield. Jamie Wallace was the winning pitcher for Smith-Tobey, bouncing back from his early jam with four straight scoreless frames.
