HANOVER, N.H. — A Lewiston man and his 3-year-old daughter were listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday with injuries from a traffic accident Friday that killed three people, including the child’s mother.

Christopher Caron, 27, of Lewiston was  taken to  Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H., Friday night after the 2000 Ford Explorer he was driving collided with another vehicle at about 5 p.m. along Route 2 near Randolph, N.H.

Caron’s passenger, Rachel Metivier, 26, of Lewiston, was pronounced dead at the scene. Metivier’s 6-year-old son was treated and released Friday, according to  New Hampshire State Police.

Caron and Metivier’s 3-year-old daughter was also taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Both father and daughter were listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday afternoon, according to a hospital representative.

Also killed were two passengers in the 2007 Nissan Altima driven by Diane Silsby, 41, of Lunenburg, Vt., who was also transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries. Pronounced dead at the scene of the crash were Silsby’s 15-year-old daughter and her 83-year-old mother, Leona Dunn of Lancaster, N.H., and formerly of Harrison and Waterford, Maine. Dunn is survived by 13 children, including some in Norway, Buckfield and Waterford, Maine, as well as a brother in South Paris and a sister in Norway, according to the Coos County Democrat.

Police said alcohol, drugs and the weather do not appear to be factors in the accident, which remains under investigation.
