DURHAM — A local woman escaped apparent injury in a single-car crash on Route 136 on Wednesday.

Ashlee Cleveland, 18, was driving north near Copp Construction Co. when she became distracted, veered off to the right shoulder and struck a tree, said Maine State Trooper Tom Pappas. He estimated damage to Cleveland’s 1996 Saturn between $4,000 and $5,000 in the 4:30 p.m. crash.
