DURHAM — Speed and improper passing were blamed for a car-motorcycle crash Friday morning on Pinkham Brook Road that injured both drivers.

Motorcyclist Gregory Beaulieu, 21, of Brunswick, was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, where a nursing supervisor said he was treated and released.

Joyce Risbara, 44, of Oxford, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where she also was treated and released, a nursing supervisor said.

Maine State Trooper Tom Pappas said both vehicles were headed south, and Beaulieu had passed several cars before his bike struck Risbara’s station wagon making a left turn, the trooper said.

Beaulieu’s 2004 Honda was totalled and Risbara’s 1997 Subaru station wagon had an estimated $2,000 damage in the 7:44 a.m. crash.

The accident remains under investigation, Pappas said.
