Art work by 47 adults and children, all students of local art teacher Mercedes Gastonguay, will be featured in the upcoming annual exhibition in the Atrium Art Gallery at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College. The exhibition of 87 works in oil, ink, pencil, pastels, and watercolor opens Friday evening, July 17, 7-9 p.m., and continues through August 14.

Students work from still lifes in the studio, on-location landscapes, photographs, and from works by well-known artists. The exhibition includes portraits, landscapes, still lifes, wildlife studies, seascapes, and floral studies.

A reception, free and open to the public, will be held Friday, July 17 from 7-9 p.m. The Edward Little Music Association will provide beverages. The featured speaker will be Joyce Gibson, the new dean for USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College.

Students with work in the exhibition are, ages 8-9, Christine Chasse, Dean Clavet, Kristina Cornelio, Caroline Gastonguay, Brenden Hanlon, Eisa Lee, T. J. Morin, and Megan Theriault.

Age 10, Anna Marie Cote, Alyssa Desjardins, Matthew Maguire, Lauren Rousseau, Shannon Roy, Sydney Sirois, John Van Dyke, and Tawni Zamrock.

Ages 11-12, Lauren Belleau, Bella Bennett, Kristen Cornelio, Josie Desjardins, Juliann Desjardins, Anya Lee, Abigail Pleau, Max Poulin, and Bernadette Racine.

Ages 13-14, Ashley Beaucage, Andrew Butler, Alex Hood, Mercedes Howes, and Alexandria Wilson.

Ages 15-18, Megan Beliveau, Michael Butler, Zackary Gray, Daniel Heutz, Kayla Larrivee,
and Sarah Patrie.

Adults artists are Ronald Bosse, Sue Caron, Janet DuBois, Selia Dubois, Lorraine Lamare,
Marie Marquis, Claire Metivier, Mariette Pare, Patricia Poulin, Jette Rasmussen, and Colleen Rioux.
