Robert H. Seger Sr.
1942 – 2009
LEWISTON — Robert H. Seger Sr., 67, a resident of Mark Street, Poland went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston, June 21, 1942, the son of Harold and Francena (Johnson) Seger.
He met and married the former Mary Jane Sandoval on Nov. 11, 1961, after serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War. He and his wife resided in the Lewiston-Auburn area where they raised their six children.
He loved music and was very proud of being a musician and a grandfather. He played with his own band, the “Overland Express,” where he played for many charities through out the state of Maine.
Survivors include his mother, Francena Seger of Lewiston; his wife of 47 years, Mary Jane of Poland; four sons, Robert Jr. of Poland, Gerald and wife, Linda, of Auburn, Bruce and wife, Wanda, of Poland and Steven and wife, Sheryll, also of Poland; two daughters, Vicki Griffin and husband, Gard Sr. of Poland and Katrina Tripp and husband, James, of New Gloucester; two brothers, Edward and wife, Kathy, of Turner and Wayne and wife, Marcia, of Lewiston; one sister, Lois Desrochers and husband, Ray, of Sabattus; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; as well as his faithful dog, Rosa.
He was predeceased by his father, Harold Seger.
Robert’s family would like to extend special thanks to the Dialysis Center as well as to his caregiver and special friend, Kim Walsh.
