Edgar J. Bourgea Jr.

1940 – 2009

LEICESTER, Mass. — Edgar J. Bourgea Jr., 68, of 80 Baldwin St., died Wednesday, July 8, in UMass-Memorial Hospital after an illness.
He was born in Rumford, Sept. 1, 1940, the son of Edgar J. and Yvonne (Goguen) Bourgea Sr. He was a truck driver for 27 years, before becoming a records custodian at Unum Insurance Co. in Worcester for several years before retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, Local 170 Teamsters Union, Auburn-Webster Elks, Leicester Knights of Columbus, Senior Citizen Club of Leicester and the Webster Square American Legion Post 341 in Worcester. He enjoyed his small farm raising pigs and chickens.
He leaves his wife of 22 years, Nancy L. (Wenckus) Bourgea; two sisters, Shirley Gould and her husband, Albert, of Worcester, Mass., and Jeanne Manzella of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Thomas Wenckus of Rockport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Bourgea.
