In an effort to improve traffic safety throughout the Twin Cities, the Lewiston Police Department, in conjunction with the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department and Auburn Police Department, will be conducting a drunken driving checkpoint this weekend.
During this checkpoint officers will be identifying those operators who are driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
The enforcement efforts are part of an OUI Enforcement grant the department received from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.
