Frank ‘Carm’ W. Curato
1920 – 2009
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Frank (Carm) William Curato, 89, died in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., on Tuesday, July 14, at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. He was a previous resident on Route 108 in Smithcrossing, Rumford, until moving to Fort Walton Beach in 1987.
He was born in Rumford. March 31, 1920, one of 12 children of Joseph and Concetta (Paparata) Curato Sr., and had attended school in Rumford.
He was married 63 years ago in Rumford on Oct. 7, 1946 to the former Mary “Anita” Gallant, who survives him in Fort Walton Beach.
Other survivors are a daughter, Linda Larson and husband, Larry, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a son, James “Jim” Curato of Rumford; two grandchildren, Lindsay Joseph and husband, Mark and Lance Larson, all of Fort Walton Beach; three sisters, Esther Drouin of Rumford, Philomena Brown of Gorham and Antoinette Bill and husband, Thomas, of Old Orchard Beach; and one brother, Joseph Curato Jr., and wife, Mickey, of Randolph.
He was predeceased by parents, Joseph and Concetta Curato Sr.; two sisters, Alice Sullivan and Rose Buccina; and five brothers, James (Vincenzo), Patrick, Dominic “Chick,” Larry and John Curato.
