John D. Grover Jr.

1930 – 2009

SOUTH PARIS – John D. Grover Jr., 78, of Albany Township, died July 16, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

Born July 21, 1930, in Stoneham, he was the son of John D. and Sarah (McKeen) Grover. John married Joan Hobson, June 15, 1953, in West Paris. He worked most of his life for Grover Lumber Co. He enjoyed mowing and caring for his yard. He was a member of the Maine National Guard for three years and the U.S. Marine Corp for two. He was a graduate of Norway High School in 1950.

He is survived by his wife, Joan of 56 years; one daughter, Deidra Brown and her husband, Levi, of Bethel; one grandson, Lance Brown of Bethel; one granddaughter, Kallie Brown of Bethel; one brother, Lyndon Grover of North Waterford; two sisters, Harriett Brown of Oxford and Stella Johnson of Beltsville, Md.; along with several nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents; one daughter, Debra Tripp and
son-in-law, Alan Tripp; two brothers, Douglas and William Grover, who were
killed in World War II.

The family would like to thank Dr Eshleman and the staff of Stephen’s
Memorial Hospital and The Maine Veteran’s Home for their compassionate
care of there loved one.
