Lewiston -— Clayton “Guy” Goggin, 68, of Winter St. in Lisbon, died Monday, July 20, at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief but courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side.

Guy was born in Gardiner on June 22, 1941, the son of Guy and Louise (Sprague) Goggin. He was educated in Gardiner schools and married the former Rita Daigle on July 31, 1982. Together they made their home in Lisbon.

Guy worked in the construction industry for many years, most recently as a supervisor for Portland Insulation Inc., in New Gloucester, for the past 10 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, having enjoyed hunting and fishing. Guy was a huge Boston Red Sox fan — but his greatest pleasure in life was the time he spent at home with his wife and cat, Jagger.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, of Lisbon; two sons, David and Steven Goggin of Conn.; two daughters, Carol Goggin and Sandra Carnelli of Conn. He also leaves behind two brothers, Gerald Goggin and his wife, RuthAnn, of Miss., Leo Goggin, of Ariz.; and his grandson, Zachary Lucenti, of Conn.

He was predeceased by his mother and his father.
