BETHEL — Carl Francis of the Harvard University Mineralogy Department will deliver a talk at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, in the meeting room of the Dr. Moses Mason House, 14 Broad St. He will discuss “Why Preserving Maine’s Mining History is Important to Western Maine.” The lecture is free and open to all.
Following his presentation, there will be an opportunity to visit the nearby Bumpus Mine in Albany, one of the best-known mines in the region.
