LEWISTON — Three people were arrested Tuesday and charged with misdemeanors in connection with a burglary early that morning at a Livermore store.

Mindy Wright, 25, of Topsham, Christopher Poore, 29, of Otisfield and William Poore, 36, of Topsham were charged with attempted burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. Christopher Poore was also arrested for possession of an illegal drug. William Poore was recently released from prison after completing a six-year sentence for a burglary conviction, authorities said.

Officers from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department and the Livermore Falls Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at Brettun’s Variety Store in Livermore at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. They found evidence of attempts to pry open a back door and someone had taken off the electric meter. The meter also had been removed three days earlier, police said in a written release.

In a related report, Auburn police responded to a burglar alarm Tuesday at the Runway Variety Store on Hotel Road in Auburn. That store’s electric meter had been removed and someone had tried to pry open a back door, the same press release said. Auburn officers were told about the Livermore incident and interviewed the three suspects arrested by the two other departments.
