RICHMOND, Maine (AP) – Maine police investigating a 16-year-old suspected of theft discovered 4,000 rounds of ammunition, a bulletproof vest and helmet, a shotgun, a deactivated grenade and Nazi-related items during a search of his room.
The Kennebec Journal reports the boy was arrested on a theft charge July 12 for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from his parents.
Police also confiscated makeshift weapons; a shotgun; and assorted materials,including a Nazi flag and an armband with a swastika on it.
Police said the boy was fascinated by military-related television shows.
