Worthley Pond tourney

MEXICO — The Worthley Pond Association is preparing for its third annual WPA Golf Tournament, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, at Oakdale Country Club. Locla business in the River Valley help sponsor the event as well as donate prizes. This year’s tourney will include cash priazes to the winning team and a $5,000 hole-in-one contest. In addition, there will be closest to pin, closest to line and a raffle with many prizes. Individuals can sign up for $25 at Oakdale or call 364-3951. All proceeds will benefit Worthley Pond Association activities, including preservation of water quality and boat inspections.

Dirigo boosters scramble

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo Athletic
Boosters will be hosting its third annual Golf Scramble and Pig Roast
at the Oakdale Country Club in Mexico on Sunday, Sept. 13.The 18-hole,
four-ball scramble will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. A pig
roast with all the fixings will follow at 1:30 p.m. Teams will be
competing for prizes, including a $10,000 hole-in-one. The event will
be held rain or shine.Team sponsorships are available for $200 for
riding teams and $140 for walking teams. Tee sponsorships are $35 each.
