Constance B. Roberge
1927 – 2009
LEWISTON — Constance B. Roberge, 81, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston died Wednesday, July 29, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
She was born in Auburn, Oct. 19, 1927, the daughter of Thomas and Annie (Mercier) Obie and had been a resident of this community all of her life.
She was married to Roger J. Roberge on Nov. 25, 1948, and he died on Nov. 13, 1988.
She was employed as a payroll supervisor for 21 years at Hanna Dori Shoe until her retirement in 1985.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.
She loved to play Scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, traveling and absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons, John Roberge and his wife, Paula, of Barrington, N.H., Thomas Roberge and his wife, Doris, of New Braunfels, Texas, James Roberge and his wife, Denise, of Greene and Michael Roberge and his wife, Gina, of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia Ann Roberge of Sabattus and Jane Boilard and her husband, Donald, of Lisbon Falls; one brother, Roger Obie of Lewiston; three sisters, Helen Keith of Tavares, Fla., Irene Deprez of Auburn and Antoinette Lessard of Cape Elizabeth; nine grandchildren, Karen Shaw, Kevin Roberge, Janine Daggett, Melissa Trider, James Boilard, Michael Roberge II, Michelle Brown, Diana Drew and Darrin Sargent; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by eight brothers; and one sister.
The family wishes to thank the staff at 4 West from d’Youville Pavilion for the wonderful care they have given to Constance these past three years.
