John F. Donahue
1935 – 2009
LEWISTON — John Francis Donahue, 73, of 39 Knox St., Lewiston, died July 7.
He was born Aug. 8, 1935, son of James Donahue and Bernadette (Pelletier) Donahue Dubois. He graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1954.
He was employed at Bates Mill for 15 years and was a bartender for 23 years at the Cavalier Club. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and the Army Reserves for five years.
He was a member of the 20M Club, the Acme Club and Le Club Nationale. He enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles and Red Sox baseball, but most of all loved being with his grandchildren, Brandon and Brittney.
He is survived by his son, Mark Donahue; his former wife, Donna Donahue; grandchildren, Brandon and Brittney Donahue; two brothers, Daniel Donahue and Richard Dubois; two sisters, Ellen Murry and Caroline Parent; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Patricia Biron.
