AUBURN – The Lewiston Senior Citizens will hold their Annual Senior Fun Day on Thursday, Aug. 13, at Lost Valley, with a carnival theme. Many activities, raffles and surprises have been planned.

Doors will open to the public at 9 a.m., when bingo players will set
up, card players will organize groups to play, attendants will choose a
freebie and may purchase tickets for the raffle table and pot of gold. Local businesses have donated items for the raffle table, including gift certificates for meals, oil changes and other services.

Bingo and card playing will begin at 9:30, followed by indoor and outdoor games and prizes at 11:30. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners of a coin toss, water balloon toss, beanbag toss, mini golf challenge and perhaps a surprise or two. Volunteers are needed to help run the games and events.

Also at the fun day will be the jail fundraiser: for $1, put a senior in “jail” and help raise money for the Lewiston Senior Citizens when they have to bail themselves out.

A chicken barbecue will be served at noon. From 1 to 3 p.m. there
will be entertainment, dancing and drawing of the raffle and pot of gold winners. Entertainment will be provided by Present Company who will perform dance rhythms, line dancing favorites, rock and roll, tango, cha cha, mambo, rumba, congo, waltz, polka, fox trot and more. Bring a partner or come as you are.

Tickets are available at the Lewiston Senior Citizens’ office at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St., Lewiston. Cost is $12 each person. Membership is not necessary to attend; all who are age 50 or over are welcome. Tickets should be purchased by Friday, Aug. 7.
