What did 40 photographers see as they walked through downtown Lewiston-Auburn on a recent rainy Saturday morning?
That is the theme of Gallery 5’s newest exhibit, which opens with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 31.
Lewiston-Auburn was one of more than 900 communities to participate in the Scott Kelby Photoshop Worldwide Photowalk on Saturday, July 18. The exhibit featuring two photos from each of the 40 photographers tells a fascinating story of the community’s heart and evolution.
“Only three other Maine communities were participating in this international event,” said Tammie Grieshaber, owner of Mainely Kids Photography and local walk organizer. “And I wanted Lewiston-Auburn on the map.”
“Fifty-three people registered for the walk. When I woke to heavy rain Saturday, July 18, I expected a very small group to meet at Willie Bean’s. But more than 40 intrepid, waterproof photographers showed up. Their enthusiasm carried through the morning,” she said.
The exhibit will be up at Gallery 5 at 49 Lisbon St., Lewiston, through Aug. 15. Enter the gallery through Fuel restaurant. Exhibit hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and by appointment by calling Grieshaber at 576 -4805.
