LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday morning for James E. Paul at Holy Cross Church following prayers at the Fortin Group Funeral Home.
The Rev. Laurent Laplante, brother-in-law to Mr. Paul, officiated at the Mass, and was assisted at the altar by the Revs. Robert Lacasse OMI, Paul Pare and Maurice Morin. At the conclusion of the Mass, eulogies and words of remembrance were given by Donald Parent and Steven Webber. The Rev. Laplante recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery followed by the playing of taps and formal presentation of the American flag to his widow, recognizing his military service.
Pallbearers were Larry Parent, Michael Dodge, Billy Francoeur, Dave Ouellette, Rob Mistina and Steve Mellette. Arrangements were under the care of Fortin Group Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services of Lewiston.
