Connie Bevivino, right, takes photos of one of the displays at Museum L-A on Saturday afternoon during a reception for the new exhibit featuring local brick-makers titled “Portraits & Voices: Brickyard Roads.” Her father, grandfather and many other relatives are pictured on the walls while at work at the brickyard. She came from Rhode Island for the celebration, along with dozens of other family members who came from far away and close by, including Lorrie Dennis of Greene, left. Several hundred people came to be recognized and to view the displays, photos and portraits of workers who were being honored. For more photos, please visit:  www.sunjournal.com

Joseph F. Dennis, the patriarch of the Dennis Brick Company, would be proud to know how many of his descendants and their families came to recognize his and other family members and other locals who were part of the brick making industry that helped define the area as a leader in quality craftsmanship. He died in 1952.
