KITTERY (AP) – There will be a change in command at the USS Dallas, a nuclear submarine being overhauled at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Cmdr. David Roberts will turn over command Monday to Cmdr. George Arnold in a ceremony at the shipyard’s Squalus Memorial Park.

Arnold, a native Birmingham, Alabama, previous served as Executive Officer aboard the USS Albuquerque and an Engineer aboard the USS Montpelier.

Navy officials say Roberts oversaw the crew’s transition from intense at-sea operations to an industrial shipyard environment. He will next serve as the Submarine Squadron 2 Deputy.
