OXFORD — Barbara M. McBean, 83, of Oxford died at her home on Thursday, July 30.
She was born in Livermore Falls on July 9, 1926, the daughter of Ralph and Julia Lally Whittemore. She graduated from Livermore Falls High School and had been a homemaker all of her life. She married Reginald G. McBean Sr. in August 1945; he predeceased her in 1985.
She enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, as well as going to her favorite restaurant, the Chick-A-Dee.
She is survived by two sons, Reginald G. McBean Jr. and his wife, Crystal, of Wilton and Brian E. McBean and his wife, Dina, of Caribou; a daughter, Julia Gammon and her husband, Dale, of Sumner; eight grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and a brother, James Whittemore and his wife, Beverly, of Rumford.
She was predeceased by a son, Kevin W. McBean Sr. in November 2008.
