ROME — Funeral services for Ruth Taylor of Rome, formerly of New Sharon, were held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. from the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, with the Rev. John Tolman officiating.

Her grandson, Scott Ladd, daughter, Connie Evans, and son, Daniel “Danny” Taylor, all offered personal eulegies. During visitation the prior evening, her grandson, Daniel Taylor, and his dad, offered special guitar music and singing to honor her.

At her services, the congregation sang “The Old Rugged Cross.” Pallbearers, wearing identical NASCAR driver Tony Stewart T-shirts (Ruth’s favorite), were Wayne Ladd, Bruce Evans, Scott Ladd, Mike Gordon, Daniel Taylor and Logan Chipman. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington. Following services, a reception was held at the Lane Dube AMVETS Post 33, Route 4, Jay.
