Helene Simonetti
1922 — 2009
LEWISTON — Helene Jeanne D’Arc (Nadeau) Simonetti passed away on Aug. 4 with her four children by her side. She was born on Aug. 20, 1922, the 13th of 19 children, to Archille and Rose Anna Nadeau. She was the last surviving sibling in the Nadeau family.
She married Joseph Simonetti in 1944 and celebrated 50 years of marriage before he passed in 1994. Helene’s passion was her love for her children and grandchildren on both sides of the country. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and enjoyed traveling to Florida, Ohio and the west coast to visit her family.
She took pride in the fact that she raised four children who remain close.
Helene is survived by her four children, Joseph Simonetti of Reno, Nev., Patricia Moulton and her husband, Robert, of Lewiston, Dennis Simonetti of South Portland, and Joyce Thomas and her husband, Steven, of Reno, Nev. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Belinda Cyr and her husband, John, Jim Moulton and his companion, Jessica, Jamie Lynn Velarde and her husband, George, Kristin Thomas and Elias Simonetti; and three great-grandchildren, Shohn, Ashley and Maddox.
