Louise A. Jalbert
1924 — 2009
AUBURN — Louise A. Jalbert, 84, of 10 Jeffrey St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin following a short illness.

She was born in Lisbon on Sept. 29, 1924, the daughter of Charles E. and Elianne (Berube) Jalbert and was a resident of this community all of her life.

She was employed for many years in the shoe industry — and before her retirement she was an inspector at Philip’s Elmet. Louise was a member of the Pastime Club, ACME Club, Sabattus Senior Citizens, Holy Cross Seniors and a parishioner of Holy Cross Church. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and reading.

She is survived by one brother, Joseph Jalbert and his wife, Lillian, of Lewiston; two sisters, Alda Lacasse of Lewiston and Priscilla Benoit and her husband, John, of Sun City Center, Fla., and Lewiston; very special friends, Jeannine Tardif of Lewiston and Dan and Kathy Lacasse of Auburn; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by one sister, Rita Sirois.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at the Hospice House who have shown so much love and compassion to Louise as well as to the members of the family.
