JAY — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Robert L. Laverdiere Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. The Rev. Thomas Lequin officiated at the service. The first reading was presented by Sue LaFlamme from the Book of Wisdom and the second reading was by Rachel Delagash from the Letter of Paul to the Romans. Musical selections by Therese Therrien and the Resurrection Choir were, “As the Deer Longs,” “Be Not Afraid,” “I’m The Bread of Life” and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The eulogy was given by Wendy Bourassa — and Wayne Laverdiere read the poem “Don’t Cry for Me.” Bearers were Shawn Laverdiere, Ryan, Gerard and Nick Bourassa, and Jordan and Dean Couture. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls. A reception was held at LaFleur’s restaurant following the service.
