LEWISTON — The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council will receive interactive leadership training from Marilyn Lustgarten of The Star Makers Group, on Friday, Aug. 14, during their 2009-10 day-long orientation at Lewiston City Hall.

Lustgarten is an executive coach and expert advisor who works with leaders in “good companies that want to be great.” In her more than 20 years of experience, she has helped business leaders and their organizations change, grow and succeed in achieving their goals. She inspires stellar performance in client organizations of all sizes representing a variety of industries such as construction, manufacturing, health care, communications, property management, financial and professional services and nonprofits.

During LYAC’s orientation, Lustgarten, who will be volunteering her time, will focus on the four stages of team development and will include interactive exercises. The 2009-10 LYAC membership consists of six returning members and six new members.

“I am really looking forward to working with this group of future community leaders and helping them to understand how working together successfully makes all the difference in accomplishing goals and delivering great results,” said Lustgarten.

She received her bachelor of science and bachelor of arts degrees from Thomas Edison State College and holds several professional certifications. Before starting her own coaching and consulting firm in 2000, Lustgarten held strategic roles in a number of organizations including Bunge North America, SSM Healthcare, Manor Care Health Services and Continental Baking Company.

She speaks and writes on leadership issues and organizational transformation and also publishes “For Your Inspiration,” a free monthly e-zine and resource for business leaders.
