NEW GLOUCESTER — A motorcycle crash on the Maine Turnpike on Friday afternoon caused traffic to slow as police and emergency crews responded.

Highway officials said the crash occurred in the southbound lanes near mile marker 71, between the Auburn interchange and the New Gloucester barrier plaza.

It was not immediately known if anyone was hurt in the 3:30 p.m. crash. Maine State Police are investigating the wreck but did not return requests for more information Friday night.
