The Lewiston Public Library will wrap up its summer contra dance series Friday, Aug. 14, with an evening of Celtic and French-Canadian jigs and reels performed by guitarist John Cote and fiddler Hannah Rodrigue, above. They will be joined by fellow fiddlers Rebecca Grube and Emily Scalici. The four musicians will arrive at LPL’s Callahan Hall fresh from a week of music-making at Maine Fiddle Camp in Montville. Guest caller Ted Steele of Missouri will lead attendees in a program of fun and easy New England contras and squares. The event will take place from 8 until 11 p.m. Cost is $5, $2 for students. The library is at 200 Lisbon St. For more information, call 513-3050.
