L/A Arts will provide two arts offerings Thursday, Aug. 13, as part of its Music in the Parks series. In the time-honored tradition of traveling players, The Poland Players will share their condensed version of Shakespeare in the Park with content suitable for all ages. They will present "Romeo and Juliet" at noon in Lewiston’s Fountain Park on Mill Street in the Bates Mill Complex. At 7 p.m., they will bring "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" to Festival Plaza on Main Street, Auburn. Both performances are free and will last about one hour. Some chairs will be provided for the audience. If it rains, the noon performance will be held at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston; the evening show would be canceled.
