AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services Department will offer two “Introduction to Phlebotomy” classes. The first class will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 1 through Oct. 20. The second class will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 3 through Oct. 22.

The cost of each eight-week class is $450 and includes materials and book.

A combination of lecture, lab and hands-on practical experience, the course is aimed at developing skills needed to work in an entry level position in medical facilities as a phlebotomist. Upon completion, students may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices and other health care settings.

The course will be taught by Diane Daignault and Gina Dick, phlebotomist II at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston.
