MEXICO — Police are looking for
someone who took insurance cards, auto registrations and operators’
manuals from six vehicles on the night of Aug. 7. A few other
items were taken as well.

Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said a path could be
followed through Whitman Street, Burton Street, Harlow Hill, Fourth
Street and Monroe Street, which are all close to each other.

And he doesn’t know what the thief’s
motive could be. Although there are names, ages and addresses on the
stolen documents, there are no Social Security or other numbers that
could more likely lead to identity theft. The thefts were reported at various
times to the Police Department.

Besides the documents taken from the
vehicles’ glove boxes, a purse with cash, checkbook and credit cards owned by the Harlow Hill resident was
taken. The Fourth Street resident found the contents of his glove box
strewn on the driveway. The Monroe Street resident, who had two
vehicles, reported that spare keys were also taken.

All vehicles were unlocked.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity on
any of the streets the night of Aug. 7 is asked to call police at 1-800-733-1421.
