RUMFORD — “The Rivals,” an all-American story that takes audiences to a place where football is everything and losing is not an option, will be shown Friday, Aug. 14, at Mountain Valley High School.
The showing is a benefit for Danny Garneau, son of Jeff and Kim Garneau, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Donations will be accepted at the door. There will be a 50/50 raffle, poster sales, a raffle for tickets to a Patriot’s game and a raffle to enter the Oxford Federal Credit Union Money Booth.
In “The Rivals,” award-winning filmmaker Kirk Wolfinger illustrates a passionate story about two towns in Maine, a struggling mill town in the north and an affluent suburb along the southern coast, both vying for the state football championship title.
The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. in Muskie Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m.
