Bridge results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 11 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, David Lock and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; third, Vernon and Janet Arey; fourth, Larry Fortier and Lawrence Holmes. Winners in Flight B were: first, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; second, Larry Fortier and Lawrence Holmes. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

The club also met on Aug. 12 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Flight A winners were: first, Leslie Buzzell and John Hackett; second, Sherry Hinckley and Jeanine Kivus; third, Larry Fortier and Anita Perrier; fourth, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin. Another game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games.

Laptop orientation

AUBURN — All students at Edward Little High School will have the opportunity to have a laptop to use individually. Students who wish to take their laptop home can, as long as their parents/guardians attend an orientation, sign the agreement and pick up their laptops on the following dates and times:

Thursday and Friday, Aug. 20 and 21 and Monday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Orientation will also be held Tuesday to Friday, Sept. 8 to 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Orientations will be on the half hour and hour and last approximately 20 minutes. No reservations are necessary.

By Sept. 14, all students will have laptops assigned to them. Students whose parents have not come in and signed for their child’s laptop will be required to pick up and return their laptops each day.
