St. Hilaire received the Occupation Medal (Japan), Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and United Nations Service Medal for his service.

He returned to Auburn and worked for his brother’s roofing company. He married his high school sweetheart, Madeline, in 1954 and they raised three sons, Daniel, John and Michael.

His favorite activities at the home are bingo and going out to eat. He loves the music programs and playing poker with “the boys.” Staff said St. Hilaire has a wonderful sense of humor and knows everyone in the facility.
