PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Police say they uncovered a number of pipe bombs while raiding apartments early Monday morning as part of a drug trafficking investigation in Maine’s largest city.

Officials told the Portland Press Herald that the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Portland police found 20 pipe bombs during a search of an apartment on Park Avenue. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has been called in to assist.

In all, police said they seized about an ounce of cocaine and arrested three men and a woman on drug trafficking charges. They were jailed on $100,000 cash bail each.
