VFW to meet

LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 57 Birch St. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.

The agenda will include upcoming veterans activities and Buddy Poppy sales.

Eligible veterans who served the country in combat have earned the right to membership in the VFW. They are invited to attend the meeting or call Armand Bussiere at 688-2291 for more information.

Door class

LISBON — A door fabrication and installation class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Building Materials Exchange, 102 Lisbon Rd.

The hands-on class is for those who are doing home repairs or who need to winterize doors. Participants will learn easy fixes for common door problems.

GED program

TURNER — SAD 52 Adult and Community Education, a partner in the Upper
Androscoggin Collaborative, is offering GED FastTrack, a three-week
focused day or evening program that can raise GED scores.

Registration and qualifying assessments will take place Aug. 24
through Sept. 11, with classes beginning Sept. 14. Call 225-3478 to
