John R. Morgan
1927 – 2009
AUBURN — John R. Morgan, 82, of Norway died on Aug. 16, at the Hospice House from complications of pancreatitis.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1927, in Lawrence, Mass., and was raised in Norway. He served his country during the Korean War. He worked for A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. in South Paris until 1982.
He belonged to the American Legion, and the Odd Fellows. He served on the Norway Planning Board, Norway-Paris Solid Waste, and the Norway Budget Committee up to his death. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Norway.
On Oct. 1, 1966, he married Minerva V. Day.
He is survived by his wife, Minerva of Norway; their daughters, Roxanne Buckland and her husband, Rob, of Florida, and Katherine R. Morgan of Norway; two grandsons, Joseph Dudley and his wife, Amy, and John Dudley and his wife, Piola, both of Florida; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Sollis of Florida; and a brother, Franklin Flanders of Norway.
