BOWDOINHAM — “Stone & Rock,” featuring two- and three-dimensional works, is on exhibit through Oct. 3 at the Merrymeeting Arts Center. On display are works either made of stone or having stone, rock, ledges, boulders, pebbles and/or cliffs as central elements.
The show features mosaic stone panels by Angela Kimberk in a range of abstract and naturalistic forms.

Artists participating work in a range of media from oil to photography to sculpture. They include Mark Nelson., Stephen Petroff, Matthew Kelley, Jane Page-Conway, Mike Ellis, Leslie Goode, Lenora Leibowitz, Robin Brooks, Carlo Pittore, Barbara Vanderbilt, Martha Lentz, George Paton and Leon Vanella. Cosmic Stone of Topsham is providing a stone bench and several incised boulders.

The center is offering a number of workshops and activities related to the exhibit in collaboration with the Cathance River Educational Alliance and the Friends of Merrymeeting Bay. Tom Waddle will lead two tours of area geological features beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Art workshops will be offered at the Merrymeeting Arts Center on two Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to noon. On Aug. 29, “Stone Critters for Children” will be led by Peggy Muir, and the second, set for Sept. 19, is a workshop using kitchen tile led by Angela Kimberk.
