New leader

WILTON — Pastor Ami Sawtelle will begin her duties as worship leader at the Wilton United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 12. The new worship time of 11 a.m. will also begin on that day.

Following the service, an administrative council meeting will be held in the church vestry.

A special welcome luncheon for Sawtelle is set for after services on Sunday, July 19. All community members are invited to attend and meet her.
Sawtelle is also the worship leader for Eaton Memorial Methodist Church in Livermore Falls.

ATV safety course 

JAY — The Jay Police Department will sponsor an ATV safety course
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Jay Community Building.

Children
ages 10 to 15 must have a parent accompanying them to take the course.
Children ages 10 to 15 are required by law to have completed an ATV
course in order to operate an all-terrain vehicle off their property.

The
class is limited to 15 students. Students must attend the full day to
receive a certificate. The course is free and will be instructed by
Cpl. Jeffery Fournier of the Jay Police Department and Rick Rogers of
the Department of Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. To register for
the class, all the Jay Police Department between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at
897-6766.
