GED FastTrack

TURNER — SAD 52 Adult and Community Education, a partner in the Upper Androscoggin Collaborative, is offering GED FastTrack, a three-week focused day or evening program that can raise GED scores.

Registration and qualifying assessments will take place Aug. 24 through Sept. 11, with classes beginning Sept. 14. Call 225-3478 to register.

 ‘Everything Sale’

PHILLIPS — The third annual “Everything Sale” will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 21, at the “Old Gym.” Proceeds will benefit the Phillips Area Community Center. Tables are available for $10. For more information, call Caroline King at 639-2070.

Yard, bake sale

FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks Church Mission at the Eastward’s South Africa Partnership will hold a yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Rain date will be Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Fairbanks School Meeting House parking lot, Route 4/27.

Items will range from fur coats, sporting equipment, camping gear, furniture, toys and household items to baked goods.
Proceeds will go to ongoing projects to help the people of the Thyume Valley in the Eastern Province of South Africa start home gardens and grow layer chickens to provide eggs for protein. Another project aims to help the AIDS victims and their families, especially the littlest victims.
