NORWAY — The friends and members of the Second Congregational Church, UCC, Main Street, are busy sorting, cleaning and pricing items for their ninth annual Tent-N-Treasures Yard Sale on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Keith Ladner, board of trustees chairman, said, “We are often imitated, but never duplicated. If you haven’t been before, don’t miss it. It is a huge event. We have it all; from books to baby stuff, from tractors to trinkets. All items are very reasonably priced, clean and in working order. Year after year, people line the sidewalks waiting for the 7:30 a.m. opening bell. This year will be our biggest sale to date. We’ve added crafts, fresh produce, baked beans, pies and baked goods. There will even be face painting for the youngest shoppers.”

The sale, under several tents, will fill the church parking lot. Set-up will begins early Friday morning, Aug. 21, and will last late into Friday night. Youth group members and advisers will spend the night under the tents.

There will be no “early birds” or “previews” allowed before the sale, which will run from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Coffee and doughnuts will be for sale at 6:30 a.m.

The Women’s Fellowship will have a food table, which will include homemade pies, beans and other baked goods.

If interested in donating items to the yard sale, leave them in the parsonage barn or contact the church office at 743-2290. Pick-up service is available for large items. This year the revenue from the yard sale will again be used to support the missions of the Second Congregational Church.
